On the morning of March 11, 2023, amidst the vibrant spring atmosphere in Hanoi, amateur athletes from the Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade gathered at Thong Nhat Park to participate in the "For Consumer Rights" run. This event was organized as part of a series of activities in commemoration of Vietnam's Consumer Rights Day 2023 (March 15), with the theme "Transparent Information - Safe Consumption." The Ministry of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Hanoi People's Committee, coordinated the event.
During the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, emphasized the ministry's commitment to raising awareness among all segments of society regarding the significance of protecting consumers' interests. Through this community activity, each participant became an ambassador, spreading the resolute and energetic message "For the benefit of consumers," while providing opportunities for more individuals to engage in the cause. The involvement of consumers, businesses, agencies, and organizations strengthens the implementation of effective consumer protection measures.
The run offered two distance options: 4.4km and 8.8km, equivalent to 2 laps and 4 laps around Bay Mau Lake in Thong Nhat Park. Over 1,000 professional and amateur athletes took part in the race. The amateur athletes from the Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade demonstrated outstanding performance as they completed their respective laps, garnering cheers and support from colleagues both within and outside the Institute. It is anticipated that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will organize more runs like this in the future, providing officials and employees of the Institute with a healthy platform for sports activities that promote well-being, unity, and teamwork.
