Regarding industrial production, in the first 6 months of 2021, the added value of the industry increased by 53.37%, of which the electricity and gas production and distribution industry... increased by 76.67%.The reason is that the Covid-19 epidemic is well controlled in the province, creating conditions for all sectors of the economy to operate normally, industrial production continues to maintain a high growth momentum, some industries have high production index compared to the same period in 2020 such as:Production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning increased by 69.43%; Refined sugar increased by 68.7%; Construction stone increased by 30.5%; Aloe vera gel increased by 32.8%; Waste collection, treatment and destruction, scrap recycling increased by 28.25%; Production of prefabricated metal products (except machinery and equipment) increased by 28.02%; Processed salt increased by 24%; Production of beds, cabinets, tables and chairs increased by 22.53%; Other processing and manufacturing industries increased by 21.18%; Repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment increased by 18.08%; Wood processing and production of wood products increased by 17.5%; transportation and warehousing increased by 12.62%, accommodation and food services increased by 7.57%...

In general, the industrial production situation of the province, despite being affected by the fourth outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic,at the same time, the mining industry (mainly producing sea salt) achieved too low growth due to difficulty in consumption and the selling price tended to decrease significantly; but the electricity generation and distribution industry - renewable energy continues to maintain high growth.According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, there are 35 commercial renewable energy projects in the area with a total capacity of 2,731MW, including 32 solar power projects and 3 wind power projects.Currently, Ninh Thuan has many energy projects in operation such as Trung Nam wind power plant phase 3 (Loi Hai commune, Bac Phong commune, Thuan Bac district 48MWp), 7A Wind Power Plant, Win Energy Chinh Thang Wind Power Plant, Thien Tan 2.1 Solar Power Plant, Thien Tan 2.3 Solar Power Plant, Phuoc Thai 2 Solar Power Plant, Phuoc Thai 3 Solar Power Plant … many other transmission infrastructure projects invested by the Vietnam Electricity have been completed, thereby overcoming deflation of renewable energy projects in the province. The policy of building Ninh Thuan to become a renewable energy center of the country has been gradually formed and prospered, Ninh Thuan is continuing to accelerate the progress of energy projects added to the revised Power Master Plan VII, and at the same time proposing to add renewable energy potential areas to the Power Plan VIII; coordinate to speed up the completion of Tan My Irrigation System project, Ca Na general seaport, urgently complete bidding procedures for Ca Na LNG power project phase 1 with an output of 1,500 MW...In addition, Ninh Thuan also coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to direct the Vietnam Electricity to issue a plan to implement the Bac Ai pumped storage hydropower project with a capacity of 1,200 MW with 4 units divided into 2 phases:Phase 1, construction of the outlet cluster, completed on March 11th, 2021, the work has been accepted and put into operation, synchronized with the progress of water storage of Song Cai reservoir - Tan My irrigation project. On average, in the first 6 months of 2021, the CPI increased by 3.14% over the same period in 2020.

Up to now, the province has 102 markets of all kinds, 01 commercial center, 07 supermarkets and 30 convenience stores. The commercial infrastructure system in the province is relatively modern. Many markets have been renovated, upgraded, built, and have modern forms of distribution such as general and specialized supermarkets, which are increasingly dominant with a full range of high-quality goods.Supply and demand of goods in the province are guaranteed, consumption and export.

Regarding import and export of goods, Ninh Thuan has taken full advantage of the effective Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), so the total export and import turnover of goods in the first 6 months of 2021 reached 264.7 million USD, up 52.6% over the same period in 2020.Export turnover in the first 6 months of 2021 was estimated at USD 54.9 million, up 24.7% over the same period and reaching 54.9% of the year plan (100 million USD).

Regarding industrial promotion and trade promotion activities, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade has successfully organized fairs, typically: Industry and Trade Fair and OCOP Ninh Thuan products 2020.Thereby helping businesses inside and outside the province to promote their brands of goods and services; market access and expansion; creating opportunities for enterprises of industrial production, trade, handicrafts, craft village establishments... have the opportunity to trade, exchange experiences, innovate technology to improve product quality and market development in the trend of international economic integration. The Department has organized 05 markets for Vietnamese goods in rural and mountainous areas. Here, along with direct selling activities, businesses also organize many promotions, discounts, gift giving, product consulting... tohelp people in rural and mountainous areas access quality Vietnamese goods at affordable prices.Through the market, continue to promote extensive propaganda and mobilization among officials and people of all classes to actively and effectively implement the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" by Politburo launched; supporting Vietnamese product manufacturers to understand the needs of rural consumers, assisting retailers in the district to improve their business capabilities, connecting distributors, retailers in the district and manufacturing enterprises to have long-term business opportunities; improve the consumer knowledge of people in the district about distinguishing, real and fake goods, instructions on how to use and preserve products...

In addition, trade promotion activities of Ninh Thuan province in recent years have been implemented with many different contents, sizes and forms.Up to now, the province's products have been expanded to consumption markets in provinces and cities across the country, present insupermarkets, wholesale markets and some specific products of the province have had the opportunity to export.

Despite achieving positive results, the Industry and Trade sector of the province still has certain difficulties and limitations such as:Industrial production has grown, but the investment and development of traditional key industrial products is still difficult, the scale is still small, the competitiveness is low, theproducts with high value-added are low, small-scale processing and manufacturing industry, new production capacity and limited quality of export products.Unfinished infrastructure of industrial zones and clusters has limited calling for secondary investors. Renewable energy power generation has made an initial breakthrough, the power grid transmission infrastructure is paid attention by the Government in a timely manner, but not enough to meet the needs of energy projects. Therefore, in the coming time, Ninh Thuan needs to implement many synchronous solutions and implement actively and effectively to promote the industry and trade industry to develop sustainably.
